About

The nanoPhD Laboratory, located within the National Nanotechnology Research Center (UNAM) at Bilkent University, is dedicated to advancing the discipline of nanophotonics through innovative research. We develop and fabricate novel nanophotonic chips, including high-power laser diodes, vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers (VCSELs), nanolasers, quantum cascade lasers, and micro/nano cavity structures.

Our lab focuses on applied science, and collaborate with academic and industrial partners. Our research activities are centered around epitaxial structure design, photonic device simulation, micro- and nano-fabrication techniques, and optoelectronics characterization methods. Our ultimate objective is to pioneer new research directions and deliver significant advancements in the field of nanophotonic devices with advanced features and functionalities.

Our approach integrates scientific research with an industry-oriented mindset, and we believe that this combination of expertise yields valuable outcomes. To achieve excellence and progress in this dynamic field, we are always interested in working with motivated students and researchers.
